Barbie Font Family American toy maker Mattel created Barbie in 1959 through Ruth Handler and introduced to the world at the American Toy Fair in New York City on March 9, 1959, thus marking her official birthdate. Most popular among Mattel’s Barbie toys was 1992’s Totally Hair Barbie which boasted locks all over her body!
The current Barbie trademark was designed using a cursive font that appears hand drawn, though any font could work for this design. Its predecessor (used from 1991-1999) however was quite similar and appears quite identical to Barbie Medium.
