Oswald Font is an update of the classic style represented by “Alternate Gothic” sans-serif fonts, featuring characters redrawn and then reformed to better suit standard digital screens. Oswald was designed for use across the web using internet browsers running on desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices and tablets.

Since Oswald first launched in 2011, Vernon Adams had made continuous updates until 2014. These included adding Light and Bold weights, adding support for other Latin languages, tightening spacing/kerning parameters as well as tweaks throughout its family of fonts based on user feedback from many thousands of users.

In 2016, Vernon completed his work by recruiting Kalapi Gajjar and Alexei Vanyashin as family members to complete it using Cyrillic script languages that utilize Cyrillic script scripting.
