Clearview Font was an extremely readable humanist sans serif font used widely for road sign signs across North America and Southeast Asia including Indonesia, Israel, Sri Lanka and the Philippines. Additionally it featured its sister font Clearview Hwy by late designer Donald Meeker James Montalbano; both versions were independently developed with help from Pennsylvania Transportation Institutes as well as Texas Transport institutes before finally coming under control of The Federal Highway Administration.
Following initial tests, it has been demonstrated that this stunning typeface is 2 to 8 percent more legible evening and daytime reading than other signs, particularly for older drivers – with 6 percent improvement in accessibility over long distances. Its unique sans serif typeface makes it suitable for display as well as printing media use; especially designed to display big headlines with chunky text such as headlines or titles.
The font family features thirteen styles. Each contains all capital letters, general punctuation symbolism and updated icons as well as unique characters that make the font ideal for posters, logos, brand names, quotes, products and more.
